About this role

Starpath is hiring early-career engineers (interns and associates) across mechanical, electrical, software, chemistry, materials, and manufacturing disciplines to develop robotic systems for lunar and Martian resource production. You'll own scoped projects, work alongside senior engineers on real hardware, and contribute to design reviews and testing campaigns in Hawthorne, CA.

What you'll do

  • Own a scoped project within a discipline team—design, analysis, test, manufacturing, or process development
  • Learn Starpath's engineering processes, tools, and technical stack under senior mentorship
  • Contribute to design reviews, test campaigns, and manufacturing improvements
  • Present work internally and at internship completion
  • Tackle progressively harder problems as you build expertise
  • Provide critical feedback and question assumptions when something doesn't align

What they're looking for

  • CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent)
  • Engineering first principles in your discipline
  • Hands-on fabrication or laboratory skills
  • High-quality technical drawing creation
  • Collegiate project team or research lab experience
  • Cross-disciplinary integration (mechanical, electrical, software, chemistry)
  • Industry-standard tools (FEA/CFD, embedded C, wet chemistry)
  • Machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, PCB assembly, or similar fabrication
