Backend/API Engineer, Money as a Service

About this role

Stripe seeks a Backend/API Engineer to design and maintain scalable systems handling billions of global money movement transactions. You'll extend balance management platforms, build fund accessibility solutions for enterprises and SMBs, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative financial infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and large-scale systems for reliable money movement processing
• Debug and resolve critical production issues across multiple stack levels
• Mentor and support engineer growth within the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build features while improving engineering standards
• Work effectively in distributed, hybrid team environments with strong communication
