Software Engineer

About this role

Stripe is seeking a Software Engineer in Seattle to design and build scalable APIs, services, and infrastructure for their financial platform. You'll work on payments integration, complex billing systems, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high reliability standards across production systems.

What you'll do

• Design and develop APIs, services, and systems using Java, Ruby, Scala, and Go
• Build and maintain software infrastructure with testing, deployment, and validation procedures
• Engineer payments integrations with financial partners and design data models for multi-party transactions
• Debug production issues across the stack and integrate observability tools like Datadog and Prometheus
• Mentor junior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and establish best practices
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to ensure feasible design within constraints
