About this role

Stripe is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and real-time data processing systems that power their financial infrastructure platform. You'll own medium-sized technical projects, operate high-visibility systems, and collaborate with product teams to solve complex problems at scale.

What you'll do

  • Build scalable backend services, webhooks, and public-facing APIs
  • Write maintainable code to process and evaluate data signals in real-time at scale
  • Own medium-sized technical projects from requirements to secure, reliable system architectures
  • Participate in on-call rotation, debugging and maintaining high-visibility systems
  • Partner with product teams to understand user pain points and inform roadmap decisions
  • Design and deploy distributed backend services handling concurrency, fault tolerance, and reliability
