Postgres Engineer

About this role

Supabase is seeking a Senior Postgres Engineer to enhance and maintain its hosted PostgreSQL services. The ideal candidate should be adept in managing complex PostgreSQL environments, building extensions, and collaborating with various teams to ensure a robust and scalable database foundation.

What you'll do

• Develop and sustain PostgreSQL extensions using C and Rust
• Diagnose and rectify issues in managed PostgreSQL deployments
• Oversee deployment pipelines for numerous PostgreSQL instances
• Manage compatibility and upgrades for complex extension ecosystems
• Utilize PostgreSQL's framework for reliable and scalable functionality
• Collaborate with various teams to enhance Postgres stability and performance

What they're looking for

• Expertise in PostgreSQL internals
• Experience in building PostgreSQL extensions in C and Rust
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL's permission model
• Troubleshooting in managed PostgreSQL environments
• Ability to deploy across multiple Postgres instances
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL source code
• Experience with multi-tenant databases
• Understanding of running PostgreSQL at scale
