About this role
Tenable seeks a Technical Support Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues with vulnerability assessment and compliance auditing software. You'll work hybrid from Columbia, MD, collaborating across teams to deliver expert support for complex enterprise environments and help customers understand security scan results.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical inquiries using remote support techniques
- Analyze vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events to provide actionable guidance
- Recreate customer software issues in a lab environment for engineering assessment
- Capture customer feedback and channel it to Product Management and R&D teams
- Create and publish solution documentation for customer and internal team reuse
- Build relationships with Sales, Customer Advocacy, R&D, and Operations teams

- TCP/IP networking and network security fundamentals
- Linux/Unix, macOS, and Windows system administration
- Enterprise technical support and troubleshooting in production environments
- Vulnerability management tools (Nessus or similar)
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking with quick learning ability
- Written and verbal communication for customer-facing interactions
- AI/LLM experience or demonstrated interest in adopting AI-driven tools
- Ticketing systems (JIRA, Salesforce, Zendesk) and SIEM tools (Splunk, ElasticSearch)
