About this role
Torc is seeking a Software Engineer II for Motion Control to develop vehicle models and actuation systems that enable autonomous trucks to navigate safely and efficiently. You'll work at the intersection of robotics, controls, and simulation, translating perception into safe autonomous behaviors for real-world deployment.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize vehicle motion models and control actuation strategies for autonomous trucks
- Incorporate kinematic and dynamic constraints into high-fidelity simulations and real-world systems
- Develop and validate control algorithms for steering, acceleration, and braking in unstructured environments
- Collaborate across autonomy, planning, simulation, safety, and validation teams
- Deploy and test actuation capabilities on production autonomous vehicles
- Implement production-quality software for real-world autonomous systems
