About this role
Torc, a Daimler-owned autonomous trucking software company, seeks a Software Engineer II to design and maintain cloud-based simulation services for autonomous vehicle testing. You'll work across the full development lifecycle using Python, C++, and AWS, supporting large-scale virtual testing and simulation workloads in a Linux environment.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based simulation services using AWS managed services and Terraform infrastructure-as-code
- Develop full-stack software using Python and C++ in a Linux environment, following Lean-Agile methodologies
- Perform root cause analysis and debugging for simulation runs, testing workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
- Lead process automation efforts including containerization, data handling pipelines, and deployment workflows
- Maintain comprehensive automated testing frameworks to prevent performance regressions across simulation scenarios
- Participate in on-call rotation and cross-functional collaboration to support production systems and internal customers
