About this role
Traversal seeks an AI Platform Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems, distributed infrastructure, and developer tooling that power AI agents and enterprise observability platforms. You'll own core frameworks, APIs, and evaluation pipelines while collaborating with researchers and engineers to deliver production-grade systems handling petabyte-scale telemetry data.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable, robust backend systems for AI agents and observability tools
- Build high-performance APIs enabling seamless communication between backend systems and frontend interfaces
- Architect distributed systems supporting real-time workloads over large-scale heterogeneous telemetry data
- Develop live evaluation pipelines, automated scoring systems, and benchmarks to measure AI performance
- Collaborate with AI engineers and scientists to integrate AI-driven insights into backend systems
- Monitor, optimize, and scale backend services for high throughput and low-latency performance
