About this role

Varda seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop flight-critical firmware for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules. You'll own the complete software lifecycle from requirements through orbital operations, writing reliable C++ code for real-time embedded systems in a commercial space infrastructure company.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain firmware controlling spacecraft behavior throughout mission phases
  • Lead full software lifecycle including design, testing, integration, and verification
  • Define project scope, capture requirements, and perform design trade studies for open-ended problems
  • Write quality C++ code for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded processors
  • Implement V&V techniques to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Provide flight operational support and troubleshooting
