About this role
Varda seeks a Flight Software Engineer to develop and maintain critical C++ software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in low Earth orbit. You'll own the full software lifecycle—from requirements and design through testing and flight operations—ensuring reliability for pharmaceutical processing and orbital infrastructure missions.
What you'll do
- Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations
- Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based C++ code for embedded processors
- Own full software development lifecycle including design, testing, and integration
- Capture requirements and perform design trades for open-ended problems
- Execute software verification, validation, and testing for system quality and performance
- Collaborate with team members to solve technical challenges and communicate across disciplines
