About this role
Varda seeks a C++ Flight Software Engineer to develop reliable embedded software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in low Earth orbit. You'll own the complete development lifecycle from requirements through testing and flight operations for safety-critical systems.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain flight software controlling spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule behavior throughout orbital missions
- Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded C++ code for spacecraft processors
- Lead full software development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, and integration
- Capture requirements and perform design trades to scope open-ended technical problems
- Conduct software verification, validation, and testing to ensure system quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide operational support during flight operations
