About this role
Vast seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Mechanical Subassemblies to optimize production processes and procedures for next-generation space station components. You'll partner with design teams on manufacturability, develop assembly instructions, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Advise design teams on manufacturability of mechanical subassemblies and components
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment for efficiency, quality, and cost control
- Create detailed manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing problems
- Establish quality control processes in collaboration with QA teams
- Identify waste reduction and efficiency improvements across production

- Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Manufacturing processes (machining, drilling, assembly, bonding)
- CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
