About this role

Vast seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for Mechanical Subassemblies to optimize production processes and procedures for next-generation space station components. You'll partner with design teams on manufacturability, develop assembly instructions, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

What you'll do

  • Advise design teams on manufacturability of mechanical subassemblies and components
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment for efficiency, quality, and cost control
  • Create detailed manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing problems
  • Establish quality control processes in collaboration with QA teams
  • Identify waste reduction and efficiency improvements across production
