Frontend Engineer - Access Control
About this role
Verkada is seeking a Frontend Engineer to build cloud-managed access control interfaces within their rapidly scaling physical AI platform. You'll own end-to-end frontend development on the React-based Command platform, collaborating across firmware, backend, and product teams to deliver polished user experiences for door and credential management.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain best-in-class user experiences on the Command web platform using React
- Lead projects from design through implementation with minimal initial specification
- Build custom components, UI patterns, and ensure cross-browser compatibility
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to shape features
- Debug and troubleshoot HTTP-related issues and frontend performance
- Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality standards

- React and component-based architecture
- Advanced JavaScript (scoping, closures, prototypes, classes)
- CSS and responsive design
- HTTP fundamentals and debugging techniques
- Backend framework knowledge (at least one)
- Database systems experience
- Design sensibility and attention to detail
- Full-project ownership and technical leadership
