About this role
Vestmark seeks an early-career Java software engineer to build backend services and APIs for wealth management systems serving $2+ trillion in assets. You'll develop production-quality code alongside experienced engineers in a hybrid Wakefield role, with emphasis on learning velocity, AI-assisted development practices, and strong CS fundamentals.
What you'll do
- Design and implement Java-based backend services and APIs following best practices
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews
- Contribute across the full delivery lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and iteration
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and architects on requirements and technical solutions
- Engage in design reviews and architecture discussions to develop your technical perspective
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tools into daily workflow and collaborate on team standards

- Java (or related OO language with ability to ramp quickly on Spring Boot)
- Object-oriented design and core data structures & algorithms
- Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and SQL
