About this role
Voyager Technologies seeks a Chief Engineer for Strategic Systems to lead end-to-end mission success of solid rocket propulsion programs. This autonomous technical leader will manage large multidisciplinary teams, oversee complex systems engineering, and align technical execution with budget and schedule requirements across multiple office locations or remote.
What you'll do
- Direct end-to-end technical lifecycle of solid rocket motor programs through design reviews and qualification milestones
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure systems are producible, compliant, and balanced against cost and schedule constraints
- Maintain rigorous focus on critical path and drive schedule performance through aggressive task management and alternative execution strategies
- Establish lean technical scope baselines, eliminate contingency budgeting, and monitor cost performance indices to mitigate variances
- Serve as primary technical spokesperson managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and business development
- Challenge budget change requests and preserve management reserves through data-driven technical alternatives
