Propulsion Engineer
About this role
Voyager Technologies seeks a Propulsion Engineer to design, integrate, test, and operate propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers. You'll perform thermal-fluid analysis, size critical components, and support mission operations for advanced space systems based in Pittsburgh, PA.
What you'll do
- Design, integrate, test, and operate propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers
- Size propulsion components including tanks, valves, engines, and pressurization systems
- Conduct trade studies using fluid-thermal modeling tools to guide design and operations
- Develop component specifications for vendor procurement and interactions
- Support cleanroom assembly and component testing operations
- Provide real-time mission operations support and train in mission procedures
What they're looking for
- Propulsion system design, analysis, and testing
- Thermal-fluid engineering and system modeling (GFSSP, Amesim, Thermal Desktop)
- Component sizing and specification development
- CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
- Technical communication and presentations
- Hypergolic propulsion systems knowledge
- Python, C/C++, Matlab, or Fortran programming
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (ANSYS FLUENT/CFX)
