San Diego, CAFrom $195kfull-timemidAdded today

About this role

Voyager Technologies seeks an RF Engineer to design and develop radio frequency subsystems for defense and space applications, working on new product designs and solving existing design challenges. You'll handle RF schematic design, PCB layout, validation, and testing across UHF to Ka-band frequencies, reporting to the VP of Product Design in San Diego.

What you'll do

  • Derive and document RF subsystem requirements (upconverters, downconverters, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers) from system specifications
  • Create RF schematics and guide PCB layout based on designs using tools like Altium
  • Validate RF designs through troubleshooting, testing complex circuit boards, and developing test procedures
  • Support manufacturing, integration, and resolution of PCBA issues into higher assemblies
  • Evaluate contractor proposals and participate in design reviews, proposals, and trade studies
  • Provide system integration support and meet aggressive schedule deadlines while supporting customer interactions

What they're looking for

  • RF hardware and schematic design (UHF to Ka-band)
  • Altium PCB layout and design
  • LNA and power amplifier design (up to 10W at Ka/Ku-band)
  • RF simulation and analysis tools (AWR/MWO, Genesys/ADS)
  • RF test equipment operation and lab practices
  • Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for test automation
  • Space environment design considerations (EMI/EMC, radiation, temperature)
  • Multi-project management and rapid technology adoption

Benefits

  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) for work-life balance
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with company-paid premiums
  • Affordable gym memberships with 12,700+ nationwide options
