What you'll do

  • Lead safety analyses and assess risks for autonomous vehicle systems
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure safety mitigations are effective
  • Guide adoption of safety standards and industry best practices
  • Evaluate effectiveness of risk control strategies and identify new hazards
  • Implement and improve System Safety processes
  • Integrate System Safety Methodology with Waymo's safety framework

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical fields
  • Technical project management
  • 7+ years of safety engineering experience
  • Inductive/deductive safety analysis proficiency
  • Systems Engineering principles application
  • Risk management expertise
  • Programming in C, C++, and Python
