About this role

xAI seeks a Reliability Engineer to design, build, and maintain critical data center infrastructure and HVAC systems at an advanced Memphis facility. You'll serve as the subject-matter expert on fluid systems and infrastructure assets, implementing predictive maintenance and driving reliability improvements across the campus.

What you'll do

  • Own and troubleshoot fluid and HVAC components across the facility
  • Maintain and optimize reliability of critical infrastructure assets
  • Commission systems, validate performance, and implement predictive maintenance protocols
  • Support equipment selection, sizing, and procurement decisions
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation for equipment failures

What they're looking for

  • Fluid systems expertise (valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers)
  • HVAC systems and air ducting knowledge
  • Data acquisition and test instrumentation
  • CAD proficiency (NX preferred) with GD&T and tolerance analysis
  • Structural analysis and aerospace systems experience
  • Pressurized and lightweight structures understanding
  • Independent problem-solving
  • Root-cause analysis and failure investigation
