About this role
Wayve seeks an Automotive System Engineer to design L2/L3 automotive-grade autonomous driving systems by defining requirements, collaborating with software and hardware teams, and embedding their AI solutions into OEM vehicle architectures. You'll drive data-informed development, oversee vehicle integration, conduct hands-on testing, and mentor teams toward automotive-grade practices.
What you'll do
- Define clear, traceable system requirements for L2+/L3 automated driving and ADAS functionalities
- Collaborate with product, software, and hardware teams to ensure requirements align with customer needs and business goals
- Create and validate comprehensive test scenarios using data-driven insights to guide development
- Work with software developers and architecture teams to align on data collection, KPIs, behavior specs, and system design
- Actively test and validate systems in vehicles, analyzing real-world performance and providing feedback
- Support problem resolution across teams and mentor others toward automotive-grade, requirement-based development practices
