Guidance Navigation Controls (GNC) Engineer III/IV

About this role

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a GNC Engineer III/IV to contribute to the design and development of flight control software for unmanned aircraft systems. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams, running simulations, and creating software components to enhance UAS functionality.

What you'll do

• Design and develop flight controls software for UAS
• Create software components for flight testing
• Modify avionics software modules
• Conduct stability and performance analysis
• Run high-fidelity simulations
• Generate auto-code for embedded systems
• Conduct ground tests for new features
• Support flight test integration and execution

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years in flight controls for UAS
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills
• Collaboration across various disciplines
• Experience with embedded systems
• Mentorship capabilities (preferred)
