About this role
Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a seasoned GNC Engineer V/VI to spearhead the design and optimization of advanced guidance, navigation, and control systems for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This leadership role includes mentoring junior engineers and collaborating on innovative flight control solutions from concept to testing.
What you'll do
- Lead design and development of flight control software for UAS.
- Architect and implement software for flight tests.
- Oversee simulation creation to validate system performance.
- Develop complex models in Matlab/Simulink.
- Perform advanced control system analysis and optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across teams.

- Expertise in Matlab/Simulink and auto-code generation.
- Advanced knowledge of control theory and flight dynamics.
- Experience in state estimation and Kalman filtering.
- Ability to conduct SWIL and HWIL simulations.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with UAS flight controls and avionics.
