Problem
Given a large integer represented as an integer array digits, where each digits[i] is the i-th digit, increment the large integer by one and return the resulting array of digits.
Constraints
1 <= digits.length <= 1000 <= digits[i] <= 9No leading zeros except for the number 0 itself
Examples
Example 1
digits = [1,2,3][1,2,4]Example 2
digits = [9,9][1,0,0]Approaches
1. BigInt conversion
Convert to BigInt, add 1, split back to digits.
- Time
- O(n)
- Space
- O(n)
const n = BigInt(digits.join('')) + 1n;
return n.toString().split('').map(Number);Tradeoff:
2. Walk right with carry
Iterate from the end; propagate carry; prepend 1 if needed.
