About this role

1X is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Hayward, CA to develop and scale production processes for humanoid robots. You'll own manufacturing for critical robotic components from prototype through high-volume production, focusing on machining, assembly, tooling, and process optimization to ensure quality and efficiency.

What you'll do

  • Develop and release manufacturing processes for robotic components and assemblies at scale
  • Design fixtures, tooling, CAM programs, and inspection methods to increase manufacturing efficiency
  • Improve cycle time, first-pass yield, and process reliability through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support NPI programs from prototype builds through production ramp while maintaining manufacturing readiness
  • Establish process controls, quality metrics, and documentation for repeatable production performance
  • Collaborate across engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain teams on manufacturing challenges
