9 Mothers is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to serve as the hands-on technical lead for live demonstrations of AI-powered counter-drone systems. You'll operate autonomous c-sUAS platforms in field environments, calibrate multi-sensor hardware, deploy software builds, and troubleshoot issues under high-stakes conditions while bridging the gap between R&D and real-world deployment.

What you'll do

  • Lead live autonomous counter-drone flight demonstrations and target-tracking operations in field environments
  • Assemble, prepare, and validate complex hardware and edge-compute systems before field tests
  • Perform sensor calibration, boresighting, camera focusing, and multi-sensor alignment on-site
  • Flash software builds, validate system stability, and execute integration tests for field readiness
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and sensor issues rapidly during field trials
  • Capture telemetry, document edge cases, and provide feedback to R&D for rapid iteration

  • Linux command-line administration and firmware flashing
  • Hardware troubleshooting with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and basic electronics repair
  • Cable assembly, harness building, and field-level hardware fixes
  • Networking and telemetry debugging
  • Thermal/IR optics or RF sensor experience (preferred)
  • UAS, robotics, or defense systems familiarity (preferred)
