About this role

AccuWeather seeks a Software Developer II to design and develop backend systems that process real-time weather data at scale for hundreds of millions of users. You'll work with relational databases, functional programming, and cloud technologies to build reliable data pipelines and services that power consumer and enterprise weather products.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend processors that ingest, validate, transform, and distribute real-time weather data
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement data processing solutions
  • Develop new processing capabilities and enhance existing systems for new data providers and business requirements
  • Design database schemas and SQL objects for backend applications
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and software defects
  • Write technical documentation and contribute to process improvements
