About this role

Advanced Space seeks a Mission Design Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to support lunar and interplanetary missions through trajectory analysis, mission architecture design, and astrodynamics problem-solving. You'll work across the full mission lifecycle—from concept through flight operations—on real, deployed missions including NASA's CAPSTONE and AFRL's Oracle.

What you'll do

  • Design mission architectures and optimize trajectories for Earth-orbit, cislunar, and interplanetary missions
  • Perform astrodynamics analyses including delta-V budgeting, trajectory optimization, and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Develop and maintain mission design tools and analysis software
  • Support concept of operations, contingency planning, and flight operations phases
  • Conduct stationkeeping analysis and formation-keeping algorithm development
  • Collaborate with technical leads to define analysis approaches and deliver solutions
