About this role
Formlabs is seeking a 3D Print Optimization Engineer to enhance the performance of their SLA and SLS printing platforms by solving multi-disciplinary technical challenges. You'll drive process improvements across hardware, software, and materials while collaborating with a diverse team to deliver faster, more reliable, and more accurate 3D printing solutions.
What you'll do
- Conduct root cause analysis on 3D printing systems spanning mechanics, fluid dynamics, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, and thermodynamics
- Design and execute controlled experiments to isolate variables and understand complex system behavior
- Develop optimization solutions that improve print speed, reliability, accuracy, or post-processing ease
- Assess customer impact and prioritize improvements based on market demand
- Drive adoption of solutions from concept through commercialization
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and materials teams
