Solutions Engineer
About this role
AfterShip is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive adoption of its Omnichannel post-purchase platform by providing technical guidance to mid-market and enterprise eCommerce customers. You'll partner with sales and customer success teams to design scalable solutions, validate integrations across platforms like Shopify and Amazon, and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales and implementation lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Conduct consultative technical discovery with prospects to understand business goals, architecture, and constraints
- Design and deliver tailored demos, solution walkthroughs, and proof-of-concept engagements
- Validate APIs, integrations, and data flows across multi-system environments (Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, ERP/OMS)
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop creative, scalable workarounds in ambiguous scenarios
- Define solution architecture, workflows, and success criteria pre-onboarding; contribute to SOWs and implementation planning
- Partner with Account Executives, Customer Success, and Product teams to qualify opportunities and ensure smooth customer transitions
What they're looking for
- Sales Engineering or Solutions Architecture in B2B SaaS (4+ years)
- APIs, integrations, and data flows (REST, webhooks, JSON)
- Multi-system integration design and troubleshooting (Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, ERP/OMS)
- Modern SaaS architectures and event-driven workflows
- Technical communication to both technical and business stakeholders
- eCommerce, logistics, or marketplace ecosystem experience
- Backend/frontend technology exposure (Node.js, Java, React)
- Security, privacy, and data compliance familiarity (GDPR)
