About this role

Alarm.com is seeking a Software Engineer II to develop Android features for their mobile application serving millions of customers. You'll work on real-time video streaming, IoT device controls, and smart home automation using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android technologies in a collaborative, in-office environment.

What you'll do

  • Develop and deploy Android features for the flagship Alarm.com mobile application
  • Design and implement real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks with HLS/RTSP protocols
  • Build responsive, performant UIs following Material Design guidelines and Android best practices
  • Collaborate across the full project lifecycle with iOS engineers, backend teams, QA, and product managers
  • Research and evaluate new Android technologies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Contribute ideas and participate in product development decisions
