About this role
Alarm.com seeks a Software Engineer II to contribute to their Strategic Partner Excellence and Device Platform teams, building cloud-based IoT infrastructure for smart security. You'll write production code across device APIs, event pipelines, and partner integrations while growing toward technical leadership on small projects.
What you'll do
- Write and maintain high-quality backend code for device APIs, event pipelines, lifecycle management, and partner integration components
- Complete assigned technical tasks independently with high-level direction and seek information needed to deliver quality outcomes
- Participate actively in code reviews, both receiving and providing constructive feedback to peers
- Take meaningful ownership of work across the full development cycle from design through implementation, testing, and release
- Lead small single-engineer projects or well-scoped workstreams with minimal guidance and clear communication
- Debug and troubleshoot issues systematically across environments to identify root causes and deliver durable fixes
