About this role
Allen Control Systems seeks an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop real-time embedded software and electrical systems for an autonomous defense platform. You'll design robust microcontroller firmware in C++, integrate with electromechanical components, and ensure military-grade performance through comprehensive testing and validation.
What you'll do
- Develop real-time embedded software in C++ for autonomous defense applications with focus on responsiveness and efficiency
- Design electrical systems by interpreting datasheets and schematics, communicating design constraints to electronics teams
- Write unit tests, system tests, and simulations to validate code and integrate MCU tests into CI environment
- Implement Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing frameworks
- Conduct extensive testing, debugging, and troubleshooting in lab and field environments
- Optimize code performance and power consumption on hardware-constrained platforms
