ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Controls Engineer to integrate Ingersoll Rand torque tools into a manufacturing execution system using Ignition SCADA and OPC protocols. The role involves configuring data pipelines, troubleshooting communications, and validating end-to-end data integrity in an on-site manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

  • Configure and integrate Ingersoll Rand torque tool data into Ignition SCADA via TCP/OPC protocols
  • Develop Ignition tags, OPC connections, and database transactions to capture torque data and part traceability
  • Troubleshoot communication between torque controllers and SCADA layers
  • Validate data integrity from tool output through SCADA to MES storage
  • Collaborate with client controls engineering team to replicate integration across multiple stations
  • Document configurations and support commissioning and on-floor testing

  • Ignition SCADA (3+ years with tag configuration, Jython/Python scripting)
  • TCP/OPC and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA/DA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP)
  • MES and shop floor device integration
  • SQL database design and transactional logging
  • Ingersoll Rand torque tool experience (preferred)
  • HMI development and Ignition Perspective/Vision (preferred)
  • Production traceability and part genealogy (preferred)
  • Manufacturing environment troubleshooting
