Actuation Engineer
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an Actuation Engineer to design and integrate electromechanical and hydraulic actuation systems for autonomous air vehicles. You'll own subsystem development from concept through flight test, collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions under demanding operational conditions.
What you'll do
- Design and develop actuation systems for control surfaces and electromechanical/hydraulic subsystems from concept to production
- Define actuation requirements in collaboration with structures, controls, and systems engineering teams
- Select, size, and validate actuators, motors, gearboxes, and linkages to meet performance, weight, and reliability targets
- Partner with electrical and software teams to integrate actuator control, feedback, and health monitoring into flight control systems
- Conduct design reviews, structural and dynamic analysis, and develop test plans to verify performance under flight-representative conditions
- Support component testing, subsystem integration, and vehicle-level ground and flight test campaigns

- Manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing)
- GD&T and geometric dimensioning practices
