About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Battery Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize high-voltage and low-voltage battery packs for advanced defense systems. You'll own critical battery subsystems from concept through deployment, performing CAD design, structural/thermal analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with electrical and manufacturing teams.

What you'll do

  • Design battery modules, enclosures, structural frames, and thermal management components using advanced CAD software
  • Conduct FEA and CFD analysis to evaluate structural integrity and thermal performance, including thermal runaway mitigation
  • Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, and product definitions for manufacturing
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering, BMS software, and manufacturing to integrate cell-level hardware into system architectures
  • Support prototyping, environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal cycling), and on-site manufacturing operations
  • Own battery subsystem development lifecycle from initial concept to field deployment
