About this role

Muon Space seeks a Hardware Test Engineer II to design and build Hardware-In-The-Loop testbeds and electrical ground support equipment for satellite missions. You'll lead testbed infrastructure design, integrate hardware, debug complex systems, and mentor junior engineers while working hands-on in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead design of HITL testbed infrastructure, architecture, and external interfaces
  • Design next-generation EGSE for powering, commanding, and monitoring satellites during integration and test
  • Translate flight hardware schematics and block diagrams into testbed designs in collaboration with electrical teams
  • Build, integrate, bring up, and support testbed hardware fleet in daily operation
  • Debug hardware and interface issues across testbeds, coordinating with electrical, software, and systems engineers
  • Create and maintain testbed documentation, architecture diagrams, and interface definitions

  • Complex electromechanical systems design and testing
  • Electrical schematic and block diagram interpretation
  • Hardware debugging with multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Python or Bash scripting
  • Electronics fundamentals and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
  • Linux development environment
  • Electrical CAD (Altium preferred)
  • Mechanical CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
