About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop low-level firmware and device drivers for on-orbit spacecraft systems supporting DoD and intelligence community missions. You'll own complex embedded features, debug cross-layer issues, and collaborate with electrical and software teams to deliver reliable space domain capabilities.
What you'll do
- Develop low-level firmware and reusable device drivers for microcontroller-based spacecraft systems
- Own and architect complex firmware features across the embedded system lifecycle
- Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Collaborate with electrical engineering on microcontroller selection, peripheral integration, and schematic review
- Plan, build, and test complex functionality across multiple concurrent projects
- Manage involvement in multiple projects at various development stages
What they're looking for
- C firmware development for embedded systems (5+ years)
- Microcontroller integration with analog and digital sensors
- Bare-metal and RTOS environment development
- Debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Communication bus protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
- Board bring-up and embedded systems debugging
- C/C++ and multi-language programming (Rust, Python preferred)
- Experience with multiple microcontroller architectures (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC)
