Manufacturing Engineer, Rocket Motor Systems

About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Manufacturing Engineer in Morrisville, NC to lead the design, optimization, and production of composite and metallic rocket motor components. You'll bridge design engineering with hands-on manufacturing operations, managing tooling, work instructions, quality planning, and process improvements across prototype through full-rate production phases.

What you'll do

• Design tooling and manufacturing processes for composite pressure vessels, nozzles, and insulation systems
• Create and manage manufacturing documentation including MBOMs, work instructions, process specifications, and quality plans
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to build and test rocket motor cases and nozzles while ensuring alignment with design specifications
• Optimize work cell design and production flow to meet quality, efficiency, and schedule targets
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues and eliminate recurring problems
• Interface with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to drive manufacturing feasibility and on-time delivery

• Composite and metallic manufacturing processes (autoclave, bonding, hydraulic pressing)
• CAD/CAM software proficiency (NX preferred, TeamCenter experience preferred)
• GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process optimization
• CNC machining knowledge and 5-axis router/lathe/mill operation understanding
• MS Office and project management software
• AS9100/NADCAP quality standards (preferred)
• Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration
