Mechanical Design Engineer (Multiple Tracks: Core Tech, Lethality, & DFM/DFA)
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to develop mission-critical hardware for autonomous defense platforms across air, sea, ground, and strike systems. You'll own complete design cycles from concept through production, working across three specialized tracks: core technology platforms, warhead/ordnance systems, or design-for-manufacturability optimization.
What you'll do
- Design and engineer mechanical components and assemblies from requirements through prototyping, testing, and volume manufacturing
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and fully-defined 2D drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Perform structural, thermal, and vibrational analysis using FEA and hand calculations to validate performance in harsh conditions
- Execute design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly reviews including tolerance stacks and DFMEAs
- Build prototypes, develop test plans, and conduct functional testing including environmental and dynamic validation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to resolve hardware bottlenecks

- PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter)
- Hands-on prototyping and manufacturing problem-solving
- Technical documentation and drawing standards
