About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design and development of payload carriage and release systems for novel unmanned rotorcraft. You'll collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable, cost-effective mechanical solutions while conducting analysis, prototyping, and hardware testing for advanced aerial robotic systems.
What you'll do
- Own and drive the physical design of payload carriage and release mechanisms for novel aircraft
- Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish evaluation methodologies for mechanical systems
- Collaborate with electrical, actuation, and internal teams to ensure integrated system reliability
- Conduct design reviews, perform structural analysis, build prototypes, and execute hardware test plans
- Travel to test sites and vendors to support critical demonstrations and development activities
- Contribute to enhancement of team tools, templates, processes, and engineering standards
