DevOps Engineer
About this role
Encord seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to build and operate infrastructure for an AI data platform serving Fortune 500 companies. You'll own CI/CD pipelines, design cloud systems on GCP/AWS, manage Kubernetes at scale, and drive automation and observability across engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Own and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines while partnering with developers on infrastructure changes and DevOps best practices
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, including Kubernetes clusters and petabyte-scale storage using infrastructure-as-code
- Build automation tooling and internal developer platforms to eliminate manual toil and boost productivity across engineering squads
- Profile and optimize services handling large data pipelines; perform capacity planning for storage and compute-intensive workloads
- Define and own SLIs/SLOs/SLAs for critical services; build alerting, runbooks, and lead blameless incident postmortems
- Instrument services with distributed tracing, logging, and metrics; establish observability best practices before production deployment

- Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, GCP Dashboards)
- Networking, operating systems, and database fundamentals
- Distributed and high-performance systems design
