About this role

Anduril is hiring a Perception Systems Engineer to lead the development of sensing systems for autonomous aerial vehicles. You'll own the sensor architecture, establish performance baselines, and drive verification strategies that ensure perception capabilities meet mission requirements across multiple concurrent programs.

What you'll do

  • Define perception system architecture and requirements, translating mission needs into detection, range, latency, and availability specifications
  • Own the sensor suite baseline including modality selection, part numbers, installation locations, and platform-specific configurations
  • Establish and defend the sensing performance model based on radiometry, detector physics, and flight test validation
  • Develop verification and validation strategies spanning bench testing, hardware-in-the-loop, sensor characterization, and flight test evidence
  • Lead sensor trade studies, design reviews, and gate reviews as technical authority on perception readiness
  • Instrument and analyze flight tests, driving the data-to-requirements feedback loop and ensuring modularity across platforms

What they're looking for

  • Electro-optical, LiDAR, or RADAR sensing systems design and integration
  • Multi-modal sensor architecture and sensor selection
  • Detection physics and radiometric modeling
  • System architecture and interface definition
  • Requirements traceability and verification/validation planning
  • Flight test instrumentation and data analysis
  • Technical leadership and cross-team coordination
  • Standards and vendor engagement
