Robotics Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure (SITL/HITL)
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and own simulation and hardware test infrastructure for Sentry Tower robotic systems. You'll build automated whole-system testing across software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop environments, ensuring regressions are caught before deployment to field sites.
What you'll do
- Develop and expand SITL environments with product variants, scenarios, and simulated sensor pipelines
- Build functional test coverage for HITL benches including motion control, sensor integration, firmware updates, and failure recovery
- Own CI integration end-to-end: scheduling, dependency chaining, artifact capture, result reporting, and flake triage
- Scale test platform as new compute generations, payloads, and product variants are released
- Design diagnostic tooling and log capture to enable remote root-cause analysis from CI output
- Partner with hardware and manufacturing teams to build and maintain physical HITL test benches
