Systems Engineer, Spacecraft Operations (RPO)

About this role

Anduril is seeking a Spacecraft Operations Systems Engineer to design and execute rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) for advanced military spacecraft. You'll own mission planning, flight procedures, and operational readiness from pre-launch testing through on-orbit execution, working with hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and cross-functional teams to deliver capabilities on aggressive timelines.

What you'll do

• Design RPO mission plans including relative motion, approach sequencing, delta-V budgets, and timeline integration with communications and ground contact
• Author flight rules, procedures, and go/no-go criteria for close approach operations with built-in passive safety mechanisms
• Lead pre-launch campaigns by writing and executing day-in-the-life rehearsals, mission simulations, and failure injection testing
• Validate procedures and command sequences on flatsats and hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, feeding operational constraints back to design teams
• Triage anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution under time pressure during testing and operations
• Train operators and mission crews on spacecraft systems and RPO execution; support regulatory compliance with FCC, NOAA, and proximity operations coordination
