About this role
Antares seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded control software for next-generation microreactor hardware. You'll design and validate real-time firmware for sensors, actuators, and instrumentation across development and deployment phases, collaborating closely with electrical, controls, and safety teams.
What you'll do
- Design and develop firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors interfacing with reactor hardware
- Implement communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, RS-485) and sensor/actuator control logic
- Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab equipment
- Develop fault detection, diagnostics, telemetry, and system health monitoring firmware
- Collaborate with electrical engineers on board design reviews, signal integrity, and hardware/software requirements
- Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, automated test frameworks, and configuration-controlled releases
