Harnessing Engineer
About this role
Own the complete harness engineering lifecycle for advanced nuclear microreactors, from wire and connector selection through 3D CAD design, schematic documentation, supplier management, and in-house production. You'll define processes and toolchains while ensuring safety-class compliance across testbed and operational systems.
What you'll do
- Design and route harnesses in 3D CAD, managing bend radii, thermal clearance, strain relief, and field serviceability
- Develop wiring diagrams, wire lists, pinout tables, and grounding schemes for all harnesses
- Select wire gauge, connectors, contacts, and termination tooling based on electrical, environmental, and safety requirements
- Apply safety-class design principles including physical separation, redundancy, and requirements traceability
- Manage harness design review gates, release processes, and ECO/PLM workflows under QA oversight
- Support supplier qualification, RFQ technical packages, and in-house build operations with technician oversight
