About this role

Antares seeks a Materials Engineer to lead development and qualification of ceramic and fuel materials for advanced microreactors. You'll conduct comprehensive testing, characterization, and process optimization while collaborating across engineering disciplines to ensure materials meet stringent nuclear operating conditions.

What you'll do

  • Lead ceramic material development, qualification, and lifetime testing programs with cross-institutional partners
  • Design and execute physical, thermal, and mechanical tests simulating reactor operating environments
  • Apply statistical analysis to evaluate how process and environmental variables affect material properties
  • Perform materials characterization and investigate failure modes through root cause analysis
  • Interface with manufacturing, neutronics, and quality teams to define operating limits and optimize fuel/ceramic processes
