About this role
Anthropic seeks an experienced Physical Security Design Engineer to develop and maintain contract documents, design templates, and specifications for global office security systems. The role combines technical expertise in access control, surveillance, and low-voltage systems with contract document authorship, stakeholder coordination, and implementation of automation tools to standardize designs across multiple international locations.
What you'll do
- Develop and enhance contract document basis of design (BOD) for security systems, incorporating site/risk assessments and programming requirements
- Author and evolve design templates including drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documentation for access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and communications systems
- Review design consultant deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with BOD standards across architectural, electrical, network, and other disciplines
- Support bid, construction, and handover phases through RFI responses, submittal reviews, shop-drawing verification, and closeout documentation
- Partner with security operations, real estate, network teams, and integrators to capture operational needs and lessons learned for continuous template improvement
- Maintain design library under version control and implement automations, BIM tools, and AI-assisted workflows to streamline documentation tasks
