About this role

AnySignal seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to design and test power circuitry for space communication systems. You'll lead DC-DC converter development from initial concept through vehicle integration, collaborating with software, RF, and FPGA teams in Los Angeles.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters for space applications
  • Conduct electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and requirement development
  • Define and execute electrical power system verification testing and analysis
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create new power electronics hardware
  • Own the full lifecycle of power circuitry from design to manufacturing to test

  • DC-DC converter design and debugging
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer or equivalent)
  • Power electronics modeling, simulation, and testing
  • Control theory (voltage and current mode control, compensation design)
  • DC-DC converter topologies (buck, boost, resonant, bridged configurations)
  • Impedance and loop-gain measurement techniques
  • Power tree design with sequencing requirements
  • Failure mode effects and criticality analysis (FMEA)
